Tyler Ritter of Ragsdale to be a Tiger AGAIN!

Tyler Ritter a 6'2" 265 lb offensive lineman from Ragsdale High School in Jamestown, NC has chosen to trade the Blue and White of the Ragsdale Tigers to the Crimson and Silver of the Hampden Sydney Tigers.  Tyler chose Hampden Sydney after visiting schools in 7 states and the District of Columbia.  He was chosen as the Most Outstanding Lineman on a team that went 13 - 1 his senior year.  As a senior Tyler was part of a team a that beat 11 playoff teams.

"Academics was the first priority - HSC is one of the top schools  in the state of Virginia academically and they have one heck of a great football team."  When considering academics and playing for a winner -Hampden Sydney became the obvious choice.  Since he started playing at 9 years old, Ritter has only played in 8 games that his teams have lost.  He was a member of teams that won the conference championship in 8 out of the 9 years he has played football.  He was coached by 2 of the best and most respected high school coaches in the state of NC.  Ritter started his prep career at Eastern Randolph where he was coached by Burton Cates his  freshman and sophmore years. He transfered to Ragsdale and was coach by Tommy Norwood  for his final 2 seasons.

When asked why he chose Hampden Sydney Ritter said "It was the camaraderie of the team and coaches that impressed me the most.  I can't wait to get started."

Tyler was recruited by coach Glen Young.
