The Virginia Legacy Soccer Club announced this week that York High's Bryan Talbert and Poquoson's Stephanie Marshall won the organization's 2010 David Pickeral Scholarships. They will each receive $500 scholarships. Talbert, a midfielder who earned first-team Daily Press All-Stars honors this season, was a member of the math, Latin and National honor societies. He will play next season at Hampden-Sydney College.
Marshall's activities included SCA, as well as the National and math honor societies. She will play next season at Ferrum. "They're both outstanding kids, and this goes to show their hard work off the field paid off as well as their hard work on the field," Legacy director Bobby O'Brien said.
